Are the Humanities Worth Investing In?

Ahead of the opening event of the Humanities and the Public Good series, we wanted to find out whether members of the public in Oxford thought the humanities are worth investing in. We received some interesting answers. Watch the two minute video to find out what they thought.

Do you think the humanities are worth investing in? Join the debate on Monday 27 January from 5pm at the Andrew Wiles Building, Mathematical Institute, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter. Discussing this will be Professor Earl Lewis (President of the Andrew W. Mellon foundation), Hermione Lee (President of Wolfson College & Biographer), Charlotte Higgins (Chief Arts Writer, The Guardian), Marcus du Sautoy (Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science) & Nick Hillman (Director, the Higher Education Policy Institute). Click here to register (registration is not essential, but we recommend that you register to guarantee a seat).
