Conference: New questions and responses among Muslims in Europe

A conference entitled ‘Reformulating matrimony in Islamic law: new questions and responses among Muslims in Europe’ will be held in association with TORCH and Pembroke College in Oxford in June, 2018. The conference will examine shifts in Islamic legal thought and practice taking place within Muslim communities in contemporary Europe, on questions of marriage, divorce and other related matters of family law. The conference will focus in particular upon Muslim communities in Britain and Germany, and is being held in collaboration with a variety of academics and community practitioners from both of these countries.
