Extinction Rebellion: The Future of Participatory Activism?

mt19 25 oct event ft

An event hosted in conjunction with the Life Itself Network!

Extinction Rebellion's response to the climate crisis - that we need urgent, peaceful action to bring about change that just can't wait - has captured the public imagination. In this session, Oxford's Extinction Rebellion will explain how the movement is bringing new forms of public political organisation to bear to tackle existential threats. The session provides a space to ask not only what the future of our planet will be but what shape activism, and politics as a whole, might take in the decades to come.

Tom Sinclair is a Tutor and Fellow of Wadham College, University of Oxford. He is an Associate Professor of Philosophy in Oxford's Faculty of Philosophy and his research and teaching focus on questions in moral and political philosophy.
