Join Us for a Screening of De Humani Corporis Fabrica on Wednesday, 5 March, at St. Luke’s Chapel. This immersive documentary, which premiered in the Directors' Fortnight at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, offers a visceral exploration of the human body, merging art, science, and philosophy in a way that redefines visual anthropology.
The screening will be followed by a special Q&A session with Prof. Lucien Castaing-Taylor, Harvard University Professor of Visual Arts and Director of the Sensory Ethnography Lab, facilitated by Dr C.W. Winter (AMES). As an acclaimed filmmaker, anthropologist, and leading figure in sensory ethnography, Castaing-Taylor will share insights into the making of this thought-provoking work, its thematic undertones, and its significance in both cinema and anthropology.
