Four Days in May

tt19 four days in may

"In this 40-minute documentary, residents of the lower-income garrison community of Tivoli Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica share their stories of what happened during four life-changing days in May 2010, when 73+ civilians were killed by Jamaican militia in a US-backed initiative to capture and extradite local community leader and drug lord, Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke. Their stories have largely been ignored by Jamaican government and press, and the documentary is an attempt to break this silence.

The screening will be followed by Q&A with co-producer and community psychologist Dr Deanne Bell, and Michael Joseph, Caribbean scholar and M.G. Brock Junior Research Fellow at Corpus Christi.
