Big Data and Biomedical Research: Developments and Implications

Speaker: Professor John Bell, Regius Professor of Medicine, University of Oxford

Part of this year’s flagship Green Templeton lecture series focusing on Big Data.

Over four lectures, high-profile speakers will explore the nature of developments associated with the availability and analysis of large datasets (big data) and the implications for core aspects of our everyday life. Under discussion will be the assumptions, expectations, trends and research methods raised by increasing digitisation. At the heart of this series are important questions relating to uncertainty over the assembly and holding of data, its communication and usage, methods of analysis, and potential beneficiaries.
