Speaker: Dita Frántiková (Charles University Prague)

This talk focuses on providing a comprehensive overview of how advancements in digital technologies are transforming our field. Addressing the challenges of digitization – such as those encountered during the development of a publicly accessible search tool (https://frantikova.cz/goottite) this presentation examines the implications of these developments, particularly the evolving role of AI in teaching and research. The discussion is organized into three sections: (1) currently available digital resources for Indo-European ancient languages, (2) publicly accessible tools for searching Hittite texts, and (3) the potential applications of Natural Language Processing for Hittite studies. The aim is to foster dialogue on this crucial topic, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and greater openness in data sharing.
