"Organising Conferences 101" will help you get familiar with the different aspects of conference logistics, including: how to recruit and manage your conference team; choosing a conference theme and writing a Call For Papers; securing a venue; applying for funding; selecting speakers and communicating with them; publicisation, social media, and live-tweeting; accommodating dietary, access, and technological requirements; incorporating public engagement; turning the conference proceedings into a published volume; and more.

Hanna Smyth will guide you through the ins and outs of conference organisation, drawing on her experience of doing so for TORCH and other academic institutions. Expect an interactive afternoon of practical hints and tips to make this aspect of academia less onerous and more attractive!
