Oxford Disability Law and Policy Conference

The Faculty of Law’s inaugural Oxford Disability Law and Policy Conference will focus on legal issues affecting persons with a disability. This event, co-hosted by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, will mark the launch of the newly established Oxford University Disability Law and Policy Project.

This exciting two-day conference will feature leading academics in discrimination and equality law, along with high-profile public figures who champion disability rights and work at the forefront of policy-making in this area. This prestigious conference will focus on legal issues affecting persons with disability, at the intersection of gender, race, age, sexuality and class. The two-day event will promote the intellectual study of disability and its relationship with domestic and international law. It will showcase the academically excellent work on Disability Law and Policy taking place at the University and the intellectual challenges faced by academics and legal practitioners who work in this field. Confirmed Conference speakers include Professor Anna Lawson, Professor of Law and Director of the Centre for Disability Studies, University of Leeds, and Professor Michael Stein, the Harvard Law School Project on Disability and Professor Jonathan Herring, University of Oxford.
