TORCH is delighted to announce that the German medievalist Peter Strohschneider will be coming to Oxford to deliver a talk in May 2020.

 

Peter Strohschneider is President of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Since 2002, he has taught Germanistic Medieval Studies at the University of Munich and has acted as Senior Research Fellow at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies . In 2012, he became the first Dagmar Westberg Endowed Professor of Humanities at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. He is a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.

He has written on Ritterromantic Versepik in the late Middle Ages and Alternative storytelling. Interpretations on Tristan and Willehalm - continuations as investigations into the history and theory of the courtly novel.
