Q&A Event with Oscar-Winning Director, James Ivory and Film Showing of Autobiography of a Princess

James Ivory, of Merchant Ivory Productions, director of Autobiography of a Princess, and recent Oscar-winner for the adapted screenplay of Call Me by Your Name, joins us for a Q&A following the film.

Mr Ivory will be in conversation with Professor Richard Parkinson and Professor Laura Marcus from the University of Oxford. 

Autobiography of a Princess: A fictional study of Imperial India seen through the reminiscences of an exiled daughter of a Marajah and an elderly English tutor who meet over afternoon tea. Includes actual newsreels of court life discovered in the archives of the Raj.

James Ivory is a TORCH Visiting Professor for 2018.

 

This event is in conjunction with the temporary exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum 'No Offence'.
