SciPo 2019: Plants, Brain and Imagination

Blue filaments spread out from central black square with light green and orange sections around edges.

Now in its fourth year, SciPo is a meeting of Science and Poetry. The theme of SciPo 2019 is 'Plants, Brain and Imagination'. The event is supported by St Hilda's College Research Committee, and this year by a New Network award from TORCH, The Oxford Centre for Research in the Humanities.

In 2019, there will be an associated under-18s Poetry Competition on the topic of 'Eating Plants', judged by Carrie Etter. There will also be a poetry competition for adults on the SciPo2019 theme, 'Plants, Brain and Imagination', judged by Jane Draycott.

SciPo was founded by Jenny Lewis of 'The Poet's House Oxford' and Dr Sarah Watkinson, Emeritus Fellow of St Hilda's College, Oxford, and is organised this year by Sarah with Elsa Hammond, Lecturer in English at St Hilda's.
