Ahead of their concert in Oxford on the evening of Friday 13 March, an opportunity to be in conversation with three acclaimed and inspirational female musicians in one place, speaking with candour and honesty about the ups and down of the Creative Industries.

This event is a collaboration between TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities), the Faculty of Music, and the Creative Industries Pathway - a series of learning and development opportunities for students and researchers at the University of Oxford. It is also supported by the Young Women's Music Project (YWMP).

The event is part of the Humanities Cultural Programme.

 

Fiona Bevan has been working as a multi-platinum songwriter, writing hit songs for other artists including the award-winning number one song 'Little Things' for One Direction, plus singles for Aurora, Lewis Capaldi, and Tom Walker.

Piney Gir is the award winning music supervisor, Angela Penhaligon, having worked on global programmes including The Circle for Channel 4/Netflix and won awards in advertising working with global brands like Absolut Vodka and Dior.

Samantha Whates is a musician, singer, songwriter and collaborator. She has had her music placed in high profile campaigns, and released music on indie labels including the legendary Rough Trade Records.
