A Special ‘After-Hours’ Event at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
Saturday 27 April 2019, 7pm-9pm
Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
Join us for a very special evening of viewing, discussing and celebrating ‘Performing Tibetan Identities’, an exhibition of portraits by Tibetan photographer Nyema Droma currently on display at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford. The evening will begin with a roundtable discussion with Nyema Droma, Thupten Kelsang, Lama Jabb and Baiqu Gonkar exploring some of the themes raised in the exhibition. We then move into the museum’s galleries to view Nyema Droma’s stunning portraits of ‘second generation’ Tibetans living in both China and Europe and listen to Ngawang Lodup performing live in the historic heart of the museum. Drinks and copies of the beautiful exhibition catalogue will be on sale.
