The Choix Goncourt UK ‘In Conversation’

carre goncourt uk
The Choix Goncourt UK is a great occasion for British students who love reading to discover or develop a taste for contemporary French literature.
This year, 12 UK based universities and their students are taking part in this literary event.
Students are convening in reading groups to discuss the books from the Académie Goncourt shortlist. In mid-March, they will meet (virtually) to choose their winner.

As part of this third edition, the Maison Française d’Oxford will be hosting a series of special events with shortlisted authors:

Maël Renouard for L’historiographe du Royaume on 24 February, 5pm (GMT)
Djaïli Amadou Amal for Les impatientes on 26 February, 5pm (GMT)
Camille de Toledo for Thésée, sa vie nouvelle on 1 March, 5pm (GMT)
Hervé Le Tellier for L’anomalie, on 2 March, 5pm (GMT)

They will be in conversation with Catriona Seth (University of Oxford) and French actor Anne de Peufeilhoux will read excerpts of their books.
Students will also have the opportunity to ask our guests questions. Please send your questions in advance to registration@mfo.ac.uk. If you’d like Anne de Peufeilhoux to read some excerpts of the book in particular, please let us know.

The conversations will be live-streamed on the MFO YouTube channel. To receive the links in advance, please register at registration@mfo.ac.uk

These events are convened by Catriona Seth (Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford) and the Maison Française d’Oxford, in collaboration with the Higher Education, Research and Innovation Department at the French Embassy, the French Institute in London, the AUF Europe de l’Ouest, the Académie Goncourt and Librairie ‘La Page’.
