The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui

the resistible rise of arturo ui

Arturo Ui and his band of small-time gangsters use corruption, blackmail, intimidation and violence to take over the cauliflower trade in 1930s Chicago. Brecht’s 'gangster spectacular' (with echoes of Richard III) charts the rise of Adolf Hitler in Germany and the annexation of Austria.

Written mostly in mock-Shakespearian verse, the play is violent, action-packed, chilling, and hilariously funny!
