The Use and Value of Camp Drag within LGBTQ Activism

The TORCH Queer Studies Network is hosting an open seminar with Professor Margaret (“Molly) McGehee on “Camping Out: The Use and Value of Camp Drag within LGBTQ Activism.”

In this seminar, Molly will lead a discussion of a few articles that focus on camp drag and how LGBTQ activists within the U.S. have used various forms of camp drag to further their political aims. While the seminar will focus on those texts, Molly hopes that this can be more of a conversation in which attendees share ideas about their own work, transnational connections, and the sources that inform their thinking.

Please find suggested reading in here. If you don’t manage to complete all the reading, do still feel free to attend.

Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome.
