Hannah is an AHRC-funded DPhil candidate in English Literature at the University of Oxford, supervised by Professor Susan Jones. Her dissertation explores physical pain and disability in post-World War II Francophone theatre, with a focus on the work of Samuel Beckett. She is a comparativist by training, and currently focusing on how to apply comparative methodologies not only across national theatre boundaries, and but also across the theatre medium and other creative forms, particularly prose and dance.
Hannah is more broadly interested in questions of access and agency in the theatre. She is also the Theatre Review Editor for The Beckett Circle, and increasingly intrigued by the theatre review as unique literary form.
