Joanna Bullivant is Departmental Lecturer in Historical Musicology at the University of Oxford. She has written extensively on twentieth-century British music, culminating in her monograph Alan Bush, Modern Music, and the Cold War, published by Cambridge University Press in 2017. Since then, she has been working on research into Delius and Elgar. She is also a digital musicologist, with specific interests in building resources and activities that connect music collections and artefacts to sound in performance and recording. She has participated in a number of music education and public engagement projects, especially with children, and is passionate about bringing academic research and music history to a wide audience.
